Wechat is an application that you could not survive without if you are in China, it is probably the application most used by the Chinese and it has more than a billion active users every month, practically an entire country. Surely you are wondering what type of application is so important that it has that enormous amount of monthly active users.
It is a mobile instant messaging application in the WhatsApp style but in China although staying in this comparison would be oversimplifying because while WhatsApp has stayed a bit in the prehistory of the applications allowing us very few functionalities and all of them mainly built on communication.
Tencent which is the company that has launched Wechat is constantly adding new functionalities of all kinds so we can from communicating with our friends or family to going to celebrities, following blogs, playing video games with our friends, paying even electricity or water our house, has become an application that includes various functionalities of others that practically allows you to have everything you need to see on a daily basis.
Wechat is a voice and text message communication service for portable devices, developed by the Chinese company Tencent. The first version was released in January 2011.
Supported languages are: Simplified and Traditional Chinese, English, Indonesian, Spanish, Portuguese, Turkish, Malay, Japanese, Korean, Italian, Thai, Vietnamese, Hindi, and Russian.
