In February 2019, the creators of the acclaimed Titanfall surprised the community of PlayStation, Xbox and PC gamers with a new title of the Battle Royale type and free to download. Dusty Welch and Chad Grenier hold senior executive positions at the company that develops Apex Legends. Welch is general manager while Grenier is the game director. Respawn Entertainment employees provided statements to the specialized media Game Informer in which they stated that crossplay is indeed in the company's plans and that they are working to enable the modality.
Welch said he knows the importance and need of crossplay for the industry and added the intimate fact that both he and Grenier play Apex Legends outside of work and that they would like to have the possibility of facing each other through different consoles.
From these statements that could bring important news and updates for Apex Legends, Twitter users started a debate and consulted another member and part of the team in charge of the Battle Royale distributed by Electronic Arts. The questions were for Jason McCord who, after insistent inquiries, initially decided not to answer anything.
